- Steve dives back into the pit, attacking the remaining cultist - in retaliation for him attacking Graxen. - Steve is grappled by two zombies, who then bite deeply into her flesh as the cultist attacks her. - Kyo dives into the hole to help Steve, while Ellette and Graxen move to search the cavern for the other surviving captive - Kyo kills the cultist, before using a Superior Health Potion to revitalise Steve - Kyo then leaps at another zombie, striking it down before missing a claw attack on the last - Graxen finds the final woman, in a room with a zombie who she identifies as her husband. Graxen attempts to convince her to leave, but she refuses to depart without her husband - The zombie is chained to a nearby wall, but the wall is beginning to crumble. Graxen uses his own Chains of Acheron to bind him. - This startles the woman, who reacts violently - believing Graxen is attacking her husband. She screams, her cries echoing throughout the cavern. - Graxen reacts, knocking the woman unconscious - Kyo moves after Graxen, finding two dead bodies - who appear to have been harvested for parts - He spies a horde of skeletons, seemingly responding to the woman’s screams - while two cultists approach - Ellette casts Ice Storm at the approaching skeletons - slowing their advance. The two cultists notice her while she uses the spell, prowling towards her as Steve makes to join the group. - Steve joins the fray just as Ellette bounces a Chromatic Orb against a number of cultists. Steve attacks one, who retaliates with a psychic bombardment - restraining her in place. - Another cultist uses Mind Rot on Steve, knocking her unconscious. - Kyo leaps towards, Steve - once again revitalising her and bringing her back into the fight - Graxen carries the unconscious woman away from her undead husband, casting Invisibility on her to hide her from the shambling skeletons and cultists as he joins the battle with the others - Ellette uses Chromatic Orb once again, targeting the encroaching cultists. The one grappling Steve is forced to release her - As the battle continues, Steve is again knocked unconscious by a psychic attack - Graxen approaches Steve to aid her, noticing that her skin is now lacking in pallor - The woman’s undead husband shambles out of the door. Steve smashes his head with her hammer, as he dies he murmurs “Linda…” - Graxen uses Gust of Wind to hold a number of cultists at bay, but is downed by a barrage of psychic attacks in retaliation - Kyo kills the last of the cultists with a series of Radiant attacks - After the battle, the wife attacks Graxen - hysterically screaming for her husband. Ellette stands between her and Graxen, attempting to make her see reason and realise her husband is dead - Graxen attempts to search the husband for a wedding ring but cannot find anything useful - Ellette casts Sleep on the wife - Elsewhere in the caverns, we find a huge pile of gold coins - Kyo finds a handful of rubies in the pile - There are 5,000 GP in total - which we collect - We next find a chest, which seems to be trapped - Kyo attempts to shoot a thin string running along the length of the chest - using Finger Guns - The chest remains intact, the string cut - Inside, we find a number of material stones - We find another chest in the room where the wife and undead husband were located. This chest has three padlocks - Kyo shoots one of the padlocks - it reveals itself to be a tiny mimic. It charges at Kyo but he reacts with Toll the Dead. Despite badly damaging the creature, it clamps its teeth around one of his toe beans - Kyo blasts at it with Finger Guns - destroying a portion of his paw in the process - Kyo shoots the final two padlocks. One is blasted away, which the other transforms into another mimic and attempts to flee. Both Ellette and Kyo attack it - killing it as it tries to escape - Inside are two bags - with strings attaching them to their respective sides of the chest - Ellette wedges the lid of the chest open with the Immovable Road - before using Magic Missile on both strings - Fire erupts from the chest, incinerating both bags inside - We find the remnants of burned documents - all reduced to ash. A handful of gems lay amongst the smouldering papers - A couple of rubies and a single diamond - We find a pile of perfectly polished, and cleaned bones - On the table, where Kyo earlier saw harvested bodies - he finds that everything taken from the corpses was cut out with precision - We press onwards - finding a skeleton impaled on a spike against a wall. At its feet is a diamond emitting a radiant glow - Kyo uses Summon Familiar -tasking his Fae owl with picking up the diamond - The skeleton grabs the owl, the spike it is impaled on emerges further from the wall - stabbing Kyo’s familiar - Kyo grabs the diamond as his owl fights with the skeleton - We proceed onwards - arriving in a large cavernous hallway - Graxen finds a sarcophagus in a narrow inlet. It is tightly packed into the small space - We press onwards, moving through narrow passageways - We begin to hear the sound of chanting - in a garbled form of Infernal - Ellette recognises it as a forbidden language - known as the Dark Tongue - We arrive at a wide cavern - with massive piles of bones spread around its perimeter. A lich stands in the centre of the cavern - flanked by two snarling Boneclaws - A huge black portal shimmers behind the lich - Steve stumbles forward - loudly catching the lich’s attention - The piles of bones around the room all begin to vibrate - Kyo charms both Boneclaws into acting friendly, before using Nature’s Wrath to smash at one of the bone piles with spectral vines - Steve and Graxen attack one of the Boneclaws - bringing it down. It reassembles itself - The lich charges forward, attacking Kyo - A Boneclaw teleports Steve into a nearby running river - dropping her into the rushing water - The other Boneclaw does the same to Graxen, sending him plummeting into the river with Steve - Ellette uses Misty Step to line herself up with the two Bone Claws, before blasting Lightning Bolt at them - The Lightning Bolt careens into the portal - causing it to become unstable -
