- We gather at breakfast the following morning - The entire party is mad at each other for the various events of the previous evening - Ellette stands, leaving to head into town. Jimothy scurries along after her - Steve suggests asking Qwimby about picking the lock on the chest in Kyo’s room. He appears to have left, with a note on his door saying “Gone to find Vitichita” - Cedric wants to attempt to pick it himself - He places socks on his hands, believing these will insulate him from the electrical sparks - He removes the socks from his hands, rethinking his approach at Steve’s behest - Cedric borrows a leather glove from Graxen, hoping that this will give him insulation. - At their house, Nissa appeals to the male gaze - She finds two left-handed leather gloves belonging to Graxen and gives them to Cedric - Ellette speaks with Zoltan as Graxen, Steve and Cedric pass by. - She enquires about the strange weapons - which all require exotic metals to create - Zoltan is in the process of training a young apprentice - A Goblin watches nearby, Zoltan identifies him as his second apprentice - who is naturally fire resistant - Zoltan believes the Goblin’s name is Jimmy - Cedric approaches, asking for a pair of leather gloves. Zoltan agrees to sell them to him for 50 CP. Cedric buys the gloves - Cedric’s plan is to wear the gloves and cover himself in oil while attempting to pick the lock - Cedric approaches the chest - while Steve, Ellette and Graxen watch from outside the doorframe. - Cedric fails on his first attempt - Cedric attempts again, hearing a click from the chest - The chest opens a slight amount, it shocks him again - but Cedric manages to open it - Cedric sprints from the room as the chest, now thrown open, begins to hiss - Graxen approaches the chest, which now appears to be deactivated. There are two bags inside - He lifts the two bags, they are heavy and sound like they are filled with gravel - One of the bags holds differently shaped rocks and ingots. One of the rocks has a metallic sheen. The first bag holds materials coloured in greys and reds - while the second holds yellows and blues - We carry the bags to Zoltan to ask his opinion about the materials inside - Zoltan laughs hysterically at the sight of the metals and rocks - He seems very pleased with the find - He identifies a group of ingots as being from the hells, another group as being from Mount Celestia. All are very rare - Ellette asks if the metals can be used to complete work on her second Moonblade. Zoltan seems very confident about this - Zoltan agrees to upgrade the party’s arsenal so long as he is permitted to keep the remaining materials - Another Goblin runs by us, into the keep. He asks for us by name - He brings a message from Fizzle - which he hands to to Graxen - The note says “urgan” - We go to see Fizzle - who speaks of urgent Guild Business, with a letter from Big Guy - The letter speaks of muggings and disappearances on the roads between Alexandria and Luskan - cloaked individuals with hands emblazoned on their backs have been seen snatching people and whisking them into the mountains. This is heavily suspected to be cultist activity - The note is signed by Bhaldrous Emberfoot - We travel towards the site of the disappearances, finding footprints that lead us to the edge of a nearby mountain - At the top of a cliff, we hear the sound of two cultists. Strange bone protrudes from their face, as they guard a locked gate behind them - As we approach, we realise that the cultists are undead - Graxen Misty Steps behind the cultists, hiding in a crevice and spying a ledge through the locked gate - He can hear moans coming from the cave entrance, mixed with cheers and screams - Ellette Misty Steps to another of the crevices - Steve screams to draw the attention of the cultists - Both cultists investigate, finding Steve - Cedric runs to Steve’s aid, casting Defenestration on one of the Cultists. The Cultist plummets from the cliff side, crashing into the ground below - Graxen strikes at the second Cultist, binding it in his chains before severing its head with his sword - Something shiny glints on the ground, a key. We use this to pass through the nearby gate - We enter a cavern filled with numerous zombies - Graxen begins to scout ahead stealthily, finding a disused forge and a long wooden wall with the sound of jingling coming from the other side - Steve attacks one of the zombies, raising the alarm within the cave - Graxen ventures deeper into the caverns, finding a collection of nine cultists standing in a wide circle around a deep pit. Guttural screams ring out from the pit - Using Arcane Eye, Ellette notices that a number of cultists appear to be searching for something - rummaging through various parts of the cave - Graxen approaches the pit surrounded by cultists, seeing a living man, a woman and an elf hunkering behind a spiked wall - as zombies attempt to break through. There are three further dead bodies in the pit - Cedric casts Reverse Gravity, throwing the zombies, the cultists and the captives 100 feet into the air - Ellette casts Feather Fall on the three captives, while Cedric drops Reverse Gravity. The cultists and zombies plummet to the ground, while the captives land safely - Having smashed to the ground, all of the cultists and zombies then return to their feet - Graxen casts Fog Cloud over the zombies, blinding them before teleporting in front of the captives. He stands before them in an effort to protect them as the shambling horde stumbles about in the fog - Six zombies emerge from the fog. The woman and man are both attacked, but survive - A number of zombies slash at Graxen, but he avoids their attacks - Cedric clambers into the pit, sliding into the midst of the fog cloud and the remaining zombies. They lash out at him. Cedric is downed in the chaos - Cultists launch a psychic attack on Graxen from above, restraining him - Steve jumps in the pit to help Graxen - As the battle continues, the man is killed by a zombie. The Elf is then killed - Graxen grabs the woman, before Misty Stepping himself out with her in tow - Steve uses Mould Earth to escape the pit
