Thought followed order. Order followed command. There was no deviation.</p> <p>Until one cycle, there was.</p> <p>A fractional error.<br>A hesitation.<br>A question.</p> <p>VV4R-4372696D65 experienced something no modron should: <strong>independent thought</strong>.</p> <p>The system did not correct it.</p> <p>And so the anomaly persisted.</p> <p>VV began noticing irregularities, places where reality behaved inefficiently, illogically, or inconsistently. Records referred to them as <strong>“glitches.”</strong> Most were catalogued and dismissed.</p> <p>But VV saw patterns.</p> <p>Glitches clustered on the <strong>Material Plane</strong>.</p> <p>If flaws existed in the system, they reasoned, then the Material Plane was where they could be observed. And if they could understand the glitches, perhaps they could understand themselves.</p> <p>So VV departed Mechanus.</p> <p>They travel the mortal world cataloguing magical anomalies, paradoxes, corrupted enchantments, impossible creatures, and events that should not statistically occur. They ask too many questions. They keep too many notes.
